Artistic Musings from the Mind of April Watt
Enter a world where meaning becomes muse and muse becomes meaning. April’s painting and her 3-dimensional art are unforgettable and once viewed became a part of the viewer’s experience. To own an April Watt is to own a timeless treasure.
A product of the American Midwest, I graduated from Bowling Green State University. I taught art in Montgomery County Maryland, a wealthy suburb of Washington D.C. for four years.
I lived up and down the East Coast from Maine to Virginia, settling on New Jersey Shore where I made my home working as a graphic artist.
In 1999 I came to the foothills of the McDowell Mountains in North Scottsdale where I was inspired to create my art full time
I studied and created 3-dimensional art at Glendale Community College, Mesa Art Center, The Kathy Sims Studio, and The Shumer Art Center. I’ve painted at several art centers as well as in my home studio.
I was juried into the Phoenix Sky Harbor show where my work was enjoyed and sold. I sold pieces at El Pedregal at The Boulder’s Scottsdale. I also exhibited and sold several pieces of art in many Scottsdale and Phoenix galleries, studios and museums. A great achievement for me was being juried into the ASU Open Studio Tour for 3 years in a row. There, my work was well received and purchased by visitors.
